Over the last 25 years I have practiced many aspects of woodworking from replacing castle bridges to making fine jewelry boxes... from building houses to restoring classic yachts. This diversity has developed my problem solving skills, honed my technical skills and indulged my fascination with wood.

When we moved up here, after ten years of boat building in the Bay area, sailing, having fun, and then getting married, I knew I was ready for a new challenge.  Building furniture was it!

It's been nearly twelve years now. A great deal of learning, a lot of reading and looking at other people's stuff, and a few really great customers have all contributed to my continuing evolution as a furnituremaker. Mostly I build contemporary pieces that are utilitarian.  I like furniture that has a clear function, the artistry being evident in the enduring craftsmanship and design while enhancing the beauty of any environment.

Whenever possible I try to use local hardwoods, often combining them with the more commercial American hardwoods.

My shop looks out over the redwood forest just three miles from Hwy 128 at the north end of the Anderson Valley. Visitors are always welcome to come by.

I usually have a few pieces in the showroom and I'm always ready to discuss a new project. Give me a call or e-mail, and please visit my web site.
